Released on 6 May 2022 through Q1E2 Recordings, Move On introduces Papi Gaba with a six-track debut that treats lo-fi as a starting point, not a fixed destination. The tape-based idea is clearest in “Move On,” which grew from early experiments with tape recorders and cassette tapes. That gives the EP a tactile centre, while its broader “post-lofi” frame leaves room for melody, movement and feeling.
The release opens with airy synths and heavy drums, then shifts into “It Don’t Matter,” where an M1 bass and breakbeats point toward early house. The track’s Windows remix adds extra club weight, making the contrast between home listening and dancefloor use part of the EP’s design rather than a marketing afterthought.
“Fragile” keeps mellow chords moving with a groovy pulse, while “Kristina” turns toward emotional strings. Closing track “No Crying in the Car” brings a more energetic finish, giving the sequence a lift after the EP’s softer and more melancholic passages. Together, the six tracks sketch a small but clear world: warm, melodic electronics with enough rhythmic force for a room, and enough detail to reward a quieter one.
